Question by pavementskate: Do retailers pay sales tax when they buy from the distributor?
I am starting a wholesale business in the U.S., I know that I do not pay sales tax when buying from my distributor, do I charge or report sales tax when selling to the retailers?

no, but you need to get the resale number from the retailers and have them fill out a resale certificate that you will keep on file. Once they have one filled out, they don’t need to for future transactions, just note on your invoice “no tax, resale certificate on file”
